Cast of Characters

It's time to conquer a new place. This time, I'm moving from the warmth of the Adriatic) to the fire and ice of Iceland with my diva gal pals- Tanisha and Chasity.

We discussed a 40th birthday trip for me for some time (we might have some commitment issues). Places considered were Tuscany, Southern Spain and Morocco, Scotland, and Nicaragua. The finalists were Nicaragua and Iceland. See? We were really having trouble deciding. In the end, composting toilets did Nicaragua in and the possibility of seeing the Northern Lights in October made Iceland the victor for destination.

It took five months to pick a place... now we book and plan. We decided against a ring road trip in October because well....I think I'm the only one who can drive in bad weather! We are focusing on Reykjavik and South to Southeast Iceland in October.

Divas Cast of Characters:

Tanisha (Nish)

The Super Diva! Iceland might melt when Tanisha steps foot off the plane. A take no nonsense, glam, fabulous, insert ten more amazing adjectives here, superwoman who jet sets across the world as a manager in the music and art scenes, Tanisha is already shopping for the wardrobe that best suits Iceland. No one is ready for this :)

Chasity

Is the diva everyone loves. Her defense lawyer skills and diplomacy will get us out of trouble in a jiffy. But it's her southern drawl, super laugh, quirky sarcasm, and charm that will win over the people of Iceland. If they happen to have reruns of The Golden Girls playing on Icelandic TV she will be in her glory!  Look for her to charm bartenders into some free drinks for us:)

Meghan (me)

I'm the diva turning 40. I'm the sarcastic, foodie, accidentally humorous, tell it like I think it diva (with strong  competition from Nish!).  Count on me for the driving and logistics during this trip. I'll be determined to find good wine and food in Iceland, and unlikely to drink the weird moonshine or eat shark!
